Who are we?

AEAL (Association for the Study of Language Acquisition) is an international scientific association registered in Spain which aims are: is an international scientific association registered in Spain with the number 586524 in the Spanish registration of associations (3rd February 2006) and created on 18 November of 2005 for:

To foster

the study of the acquisition and development of language in monolingual or multilingual contexts, with particular attention to the acquisition of Spanish, Basque, Catalan, and Galician languages. With particular attention to the acquisition of Spanish, Basque, Catalan, and Galician languages.

To study

the relationships of language with other processes (psychological, social, educational and biological), as well as with language typology.

To promote

the study of language impairments and intervention techniques.

the scientific knowledge on language acquisition and development.

In order to fulfil these purposes, the association will seek:

Promote the organization of periodical scientific conferences on language acquisition and development.

Organize or promote thematic meetings, seminars and symposia.

Prepare, edit and disseminate a newsletter for members that reports news and activities.

Edit a scientific journal on language acquisition and development.

Establish contacts and collaborations with other associations for the same purpose.

Create a website that facilitates communication with stakeholders.

In all its activities, the association will promote the presence of all the official languages of the Spanish State.
